The Owls Head Transportation Museum presents a running history of transportation in many of its diverse forms, including airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, carriages and bicycles. The Museum has more than 150 vehicles on display, including originals, replicas and reconstructions. Our collection represents many different modes of transportation, from animal- and human-powered craft to quirky oddities to sophisticated, technologically advanced vehicles.
The majority of the Museum's vehicles date from the turn of the century to the mid-1900s. The diversity of material from this period is wide and the vehicles are, or are built from plans of, vehicles from all over the world.
The Museum also has a particularly noteworthy collection of rare experimental-style vehicles from various periods and from various modes of travel: cars, motorcycles, etc.
